SMLIGHT USB Extender — a USB expansion board for SLZB-06xU / SLZB-MRxU, SMHUB Nano / SMHUB NanoMR, as well as standalone use with a PC. Adds two additional peripheral USB ports, dedicated interfaces for SMLIGHT 4G/LTE and Z-Wave add-ons, built-in USB-to-UART, and a separate auxiliary power input for power-hungry devices.

What it provides

Two additional USB ports

Expands one USB input of a compatible device into multiple physical ports for standard USB sticks and other peripherals.

Dedicated interfaces for add-ons

Dedicated connectors for SMLIGHT 4G/LTE and SMLIGHT Z-Wave — with their own control.

Built-in USB-to-UART

Serial interface directly on the board — no separate adapter is required for debugging or console access.

Separate auxiliary power input

Some USB devices, especially 4G/LTE modems, consume more power than the host port can reliably provide.

Three use cases

With SLZB-06xU / SLZB-MRxU

Usually, only one device can be connected via USB-C passthrough. With the Extender, you can connect several and select the active one, and where the SLZB itself supports it — use two simultaneously. A standard USB stick alongside a 4G or Z-Wave add-on.

With SMHUB Nano / NanoMR

Wider expansion: you can use up to 2 additional USB devices, a 4G/LTE add-on, a Z-Wave add-on, and the built-in radios of the SMHUB simultaneously — a compact multi-protocol hub from a single device.

Standalone USB 4G modem

Install an SMLIGHT 4G/LTE add-on, connect the Extender to a PC, laptop, or another USB host — and get a standard cellular USB modem, without any SLZB or SMHUB nearby.
