!!! Hardware version change notice (from 08.01.2026)

As of August 1, 2026, the A1-SLWF-09 device has been updated to a new hardware version (A1-SLWF-09U). Key changes:

Microcontroller: ESP32-S3 (previously ESP32-D0WD-V3)

Ethernet module: W5500 SPI (previously LAN8720 RMII)

The new W5500 Ethernet module is incompatible with the old LAN8720 module. Make sure you order the correct module for your board version. If you're not sure which version you have — check the markings on the board.

All other specifications, dimensions, and firmware compatibility remain unchanged.

SMLIGHT A1-SLWF‑09U

Modular addressable LED strip controller — ESP32-S3 based, WLED-compatible, expandable

The A1-SLWF‑09U is a next-generation controller from SMLIGHT, built for maximum flexibility and integration with modern smart home systems. Powered by the capable ESP32-S3 with WLED firmware pre-installed, it drives addressable LED strips with extended capabilities and support for modular expansions: Ethernet, PoE, and a digital microphone.

What you can do with A1-SLWF-09U, in short

The base device has the following characteristics:

Modularity: the user can install Ethernet, PoE, and digital microphone modules.
Slim and unobtrusive design. We deliberately left no markings on the top of the enclosure, so the device can be mounted on a white wall without drawing attention.
Fast wired connection — one click and your LED strip is connected, no screws.
Power from Type-C PD/QC (PD/QC technology only) — the device has a switch between 5V and 12V! Yes, you can power a 12V strip through Type-C (a PD/QC power supply is required). Convenient, isn't it?
PoE power. Recommended continuous current: 0.8A. Peak up to 2A. For 5V strips only (WS2812, etc.).
Relay: a physical MOSFET relay (GPIO33). A wired terminal can also be used to bypass the relay.
Two outputs for addressable LED strips (with signal level boosters).
Two device control buttons.
DIY screw terminal.

!!! Important (A1-SLWF-09U only)

The W5500 Ethernet chip is not supported by the official WLED firmware (github.com/wled/WLED). The A1-SLWF-09U runs on the SMLIGHT WLED fork, which adds W5500 support. Flashing the official WLED release will break Ethernet. Always use SMLIGHT's firmware for this device.
