One hub. Multiple capabilities at once.

Five expansion modules that click into the dedicated connector on the board and add a new function to your SMLIGHT device. Ethernet, 4G/LTE, Z-Wave 800, PoE, and microphone — each sold separately as an option, and you can choose several modules at once when ordering a single SMLIGHT device.

Installation requires no soldering: the keyed connector prevents incorrect polarity or orientation. Not all modules are compatible with all devices — see model compatibility below.

SMHUB and SLZB-Ultima have Ethernet built into the board — they do not need a separate Ethernet add-on.

Ethernet (W5500) — SPI MAC+PHY, 10/100 Mbps, galvanic isolation (magnetics + ESD protection). A self-contained module that requires only the SPI bus — compatible with any ESP32-series microcontroller, making it a DIY-friendly add-on.

4G / LTE — LTE Cat-1 with 2G/GSM fallback, standard SIM card slot. Can be used as the primary connection or as an automatic backup in case of a wired internet connection failure. Connected via the SMLIGHT USB Extender (very simple) or directly via DIY pins to a computer's USB port, the module works as a standard USB modem in any region.

Z-Wave 800 — Z-Wave 800 series radio with S2 security support.

PoE — IEEE 802.3af 48 V standard, regulated 5 V output, galvanic isolation on the input circuit. Power and data over a single cable — no power supply or second outlet required.

Microphone — digital MEMS microphone ICS-43434 or a similar module, I²S interface. On SLWF-09U it immediately enables sound-reactive WLED effects; on SLZB-Ultima it adds an audio input for automations.
