SLZB-MRxU.
Two networks simultaneously.
SLZB-MRxU by SMLIGHT is an Ethernet coordinator with two independent radio chips. Unlike the SLZB-06xU series, where one radio chip handles either Zigbee or Thread at a time, here each protocol runs on its own dedicated radio — simultaneously, without switching or performance loss.
The series consists of five models with the same enclosure — only the pair of radio chips inside differs. First, what the device does, then which model to choose.
Zigbee coordinator on a dedicated radio
The first radio chip manages the Zigbee network as a coordinator or router — compatible with Zigbee2MQTT and ZHA.
Thread border router — in parallel
The second radio chip simultaneously manages the Matter-over-Thread network — without waiting for Zigbee.
USB devices over the network
Additionally, a connected USB device (Z-Wave, BLE, 4G modem) becomes accessible over the network just like both radio chips.
Power — PoE, USB-C, or both simultaneously
PoE 802.3af (48V) or USB-C (5V). Both power sources can be connected simultaneously — the input is optically isolated.

Simultaneous Zigbee and Thread operation without MultiPAN compromises — for individual homes or large meshes. | Migration from a mixed ecosystem — an existing Zigbee device fleet and new Matter devices in one coordinator. | Fleet standardization — SLZB-MR5U with identical radio chips simplifies firmware management and maintenance. |
Advanced users, who have outgrown a single radio chip in the SLZB-06xU series and need both networks to operate fully. |
The most common question about multiprotocol coordinators is: "can Zigbee and Thread run simultaneously?" With SLZB-MRxU, the answer is yes — truly simultaneously. This is not MultiPAN firmware that shares one radio chip between two networks in turns (with packet loss and delays under load). Here, each protocol has its own dedicated radio chip and its own channel.
The result: both networks can operate on their optimal channels, without compromising stability or speed.

01
Connect power and network
Ethernet cable (with or without PoE) or USB-C. Both can be used simultaneously.
02
Enable Zigbee and Thread in the web interface
Both radios activate independently — no compromises or "either-or" choice.
03
Connect to the server
Two network addresses (one for each radio) are added to Home Assistant, Zigbee2MQTT, or ZHA.

ESP32-S3 core + 2 PSRAM
Manages both radio chips simultaneously, the USB host, web interface, and SLZB-OS.
Ethernet W5500
Hardware 10/100 Mbps TCP/IP controller from WIZnet — stable connection without interference.
Two rotatable +5 dB antennas
Dedicated antenna for each radio chip, L-shaped, with 3-axis adjustment.
PoE 802.3af + USB-C
Power via network (48V) or USB-C (5V); both simultaneously with optical isolation.
USB-A passthrough
Dedicated USB host port — a connected device (CP210x, CH340) becomes accessible over the network.
6 LED + кнопка
Separate indication for each radio, power, and network. One button for mode control.
Bluetooth Proxy — in parallel with both radios
Thanks to PSRAM, the device also works as a BLE proxy for Home Assistant without taking resources away from Zigbee or Thread.
Zigbee Hub mode
Direct control of Zigbee devices through the web interface. Available on MR1U–MR4U (TI radio for Zigbee).
OTBR
Built-in OpenThread Border Router — for Matter-over-Thread without additional hardware.
WireGuard VPN + DDNS
Безпечний віддалений доступ до пристрою, навіть якщо провайдер змінює IP-адресу.
OTA-оновлення
Update both radio chip firmware and SLZB-OS over the network with one click.
ESPHome support
Switch to ESPHome via the built-in web flasher and back, without a flashing cable.
| Zigbee | Zigbee2MQTT, ZHA — on the first radio chip, coordinator or router. |
| Thread / Matter | Matter-over-Thread border router on the second radio chip, simultaneously with Zigbee. |
